so…that vs such…that

一句话判据：看 so / such 后面紧跟的词性最省事——紧跟形容词或副词就用 so，紧跟名词（含 a/an + 形容词 + 名词）就用 such。中间被名词隔开的就是 such，被形副隔开的就是 so。

so…that： - He ran so quickly that we all couldn’t catch up with him.（他跑得很快，我们都追不上他。） - This is so interesting a book that we all enjoy reading it.（这本书非常有趣，我们都喜欢看。） - There was so much food that we couldn’t eat it all.（食物太多了，我们吃不完。）

such…that： - This is such an interesting book that we all enjoy reading it.（这本书非常有趣，我们都喜欢看。） - They are such interesting books that we all enjoy reading them.（这些书很有趣，我们都喜欢看。） - He shut the window with such force that the glass broke.（他关窗子用力很大，玻璃都震破了。）

三、易错陷阱

• 母语干扰点：汉语”如此美丽”不看词性，英语必须看 → ✗ She is such beautiful that everyone admires her. → ✓ She is so beautiful that everyone admires her.
• a/an 的位置：✗ It was so a beautiful day that we had a picnic. → ✓ It was such a beautiful day that we had a picnic.
• little 一词两义：✗ 想说他时间少却写 such → ✓ He has so little time for reading.（时间”少”用 so little）／I’ve never seen such little boxes.（体积”小”用 such little）
• 结果还是目的：表目的要用 so that + 情态动词，且表目的的 so that 从句不能放句首 → ✓ He hurried to the station so that he could catch the early bus.（表目的）／He got to the station so hurriedly that he caught the early bus.（表结果）

四、记忆口诀

so 后形副 such 后名词，名前有 a 就写 such a；数量多少 always so（so many / so few / so much / so little）。
