although vs though vs as

一句话判据：把从句里的形容词、副词、动词原形或名词提到句首倒装——能这样倒装的只有 though 和 as，although 不行；若要把”不过”单独放在句末当副词，只有 though 能用。

although： - Although it was raining, we went there.（虽然下着雨，我们还是去了那儿。） - Although (it was) built before the war, the engine is still in perfect order.（尽管是战前制造的，这台发动机仍然处于良好状态。）

though： - It’s hard work; I enjoy it though.（工作很辛苦，可是我乐意干。） - Child though he was, he did quite well.（他虽是孩子，但干得很好。） - She treats me as though I were a stranger.（她待我仿佛我是一个陌生人。）

as： - Successful as he is, he is not proud.（他虽然成功，但不骄傲。） - Teacher as he is, he can’t know everything.（虽然是老师，他也不可能什么都懂。）——提前单数可数名词时省略 a/an。 - Much as I like it, I won’t buy it.（尽管我很喜欢，也不会买。） - Try as I would, I could not make her change her mind.（不管我多努力，也不能让她改变主意。）

三、易错陷阱

• 母语干扰点：汉语”虽然……但是……”照搬成英语 → ✗ Although he’s only an amateur, but he’s a first-class player. → ✓ 去掉 (al)though 或 but 中的一个（一个是主从连词，一个是并列连词，不能并存）
• 倒装后名词前不用冠词：✗ A child though he was, he did quite well. → ✓ Child though he was…（倒装置于句首的名词前习惯上不用冠词或其他限定词）
• although 不能倒装：✗ Poor although I am, I can afford it. → ✓ Poor though / as I am, I can afford it.
• as though 不是 although：✗ He talks although he knew anything. → ✓ He talks as though he knew anything.（as though = 好像，固定短语中不能用 although）
• 强调时可与 yet / still 连用：✓ Though he seems happy, yet he is worried.（不能用 but，但可用 yet）

四、记忆口诀

倒装让步只认 though 和 as，句末”不过”只认 though，although 最正式、不挪窝也不能倒装。
